European Riverprize Finalists

On October 28, the European Riverprize was awarded to the River Mur at a Gala Dinner in Vienna, embedded in the frame of the European River Restoration Conference. DANUBEPARKS (Danube River, Transnational) was one of the finalists together with Freiland Environmental Consulting and the Styrian Government (Mur River, Austria) and our member BROZ (Danube River, Slovakia).

We congratulate our friends from the Mur River to their achievements and the awarding of the European Riverprize!

The European Riverprize was awarded the 2nd time this year; its winner automatically qualifies as a finalist for the International Riverprize (to be awarded next year in Brisbane, Australia). The Riverprize is an initiative of the International River Foundation.

In Europe, the awarding takes places in the framework of the European River Restoration Conference, organized by the European Centre for River Restoration. This year, it was also merged together with the Final Event of the SEE River projecthttp://www.see-river.net/ (co-financed by the ETC-SEE programme). The four day conference puts the focus on river restoration in many different perspectives, ranging from topics like urban planning or sediment management to policy context like the Water Framework Directive.
