Tourism Workshop in Duna-Ipoly National Park

The experience-exchange within the Danube River Network of Protected Areas goes on: Within the project, several partners bought boats and some even bikes, and planned new touristic offers.

For the implementation of these tours, the experience of other partners is very beneficial, so the Duna-Ipoly National Park invited the network partners for a workshop from April 5th-7th. A new combined boat & bike tour from Visegrad to the Szentendrei Island (by boat) and back to Visegrad (by bike) was tested by the participants. During the workshop on the following day, the feedback from all partners was collected in a structured way, so that the offers can now be revised and start on a very high level from the beginning.

The occasion of this soft boat tourism workshop was also used for the joint development of a DANUBEPARKS strategy on sustainable tourism development and environmental education. From the results of this first workshop, the strategic part will be written. The second soft boat tourism workshop in Persina Nature Park (Bulgaria, May 2011) will again be used for the work on this strategic document, with a one-day workshop for the development of an action plan.
