White-tailed Eagle Conference in October 2011 in Duna-Dráva National Park

The DANUBEPARKS Network has chosen the White-tailed Eagle as one of its flagship species. During the last two years, the partners have worked together on the White-tailed Eagle Action Plan and implemented pilot monitoring projects in their respective areas.

The White-tailed Eagle Conference, on October 18th-19th in Szekszárd (Hungary, Duna-Dráva National Park) will give a chance to exchange experience with experts from all over Europe on the protection of the majestic bird of prey and its habitats as well as discuss future joint protection measures. The main focus will be on its international importance and transnational collaboration for its protection.

The DANUBEPARKS Network will present the White-tailed Eagle Action Plan (to be published by the Council of Europe) and share some of its monitoring and protection experience (ringing programmes, monitoring by telemetry, reduction of disturbance, installation of articial nests and webcams).

All participants and experts are invited to also contribute with lectures (up to 20 minutes) and poster presentations. Please send your intention to contribute to Tibor Parrag, Duna-Dráva National Park
