Conferences on Wetland Protection and Sustainable Tourism in DANUBEPARKS partner areas

Two of our partner protected areas will host international conferences during the month of June, to which we would like to invite you here:

The workshop on conservation and management of freshwater, tree-dominated wetlands in Central and South-East Europe, organized by our new partner Lonjsko Polje Nature Park, will take place in Krapje (Croatia) on June 6th-8th. At the 40th anniversary of the Ramsar Convention and during the International Year of Forests, the workshop deals with various topics around the conservation of tree-dominated wetlands and gives chance to learn more about good-practice projects and visit the floodplain areas of the Save river, one of the main tributaries of the Danube.

The programme, having as its topic "Sustainable Tourism in Protected Areas: Building Bridges - Seeking Solutions" deals with sustainable tourism in protected areas and the benefits of cooperation in the EUROPARC Charter Network. The conference also gives the chance to visit different locations in the Djerdap National Park during guided excursions.
