ETC-SEE Nature Protection Projects use synergies

During the SEE Annual Conference, a new initiative was started by the programme: To foster capitalization of results among projects that have similar aims and fields of work. Georg Frank, project manager of DANUBEPARKS STEP 2.0, led the capitalization workshop of the thematic pole “Nature Protection”.

Representatives of BeNature, BioRegio Carpathians, CoWanda, NEWADA duo, SEE River, Green Mountain and of course the DANUBEPARKS projects discussed options to intensify cooperation and better use synergies. A long list of ToDos has resulted, including a joint mailing list for sending out newsletters, the invitation of the other projects to project events, the exchange of nature management documents such as Natura2000 management plans, staff exchanges between projects, and several more.

The project representatives all welcomed this initiative by the programme, as it really contributes to a stronger experience exchange and better use of project results. The discussion also showed however that cooperation between various projects does exist already, and very often not only among those working in the same field but even cross-sectorial cooperation of projects from different thematic poles, but e.g. working in the same geographic area.

We are looking forward to learning more about the other projects’ experiences and results, and to participate in each other meetings!
