The Fertö-Hanság National Park Directorate manages protected areas from the slopes of the Bakony to the Sopron Mountains, from the Danube to the meadows and oak forests in the Rábaköz region. The Szigetköz Landscape Protection Area covers about 500 small islands and hundreds of shallows, islets and inner lakes.
