17th Meeting of the Trilateral Ramsar Platform “Floodplains of the Morava–Dyje–Danube Confluence”

On 7–8 October 2025, DANUBEPARKS participated in the 17th Meeting of the Trilateral Ramsar Platform “Floodplains of the Morava–Dyje–Danube Confluence”, hosted in Slovakia and organized by The State Nature Conservancy of the Slovak Republic.

The event gathered representatives from AustriaCzechia, and Slovakia, who exchanged updates on their floodplain conservation activities and achievements from 2022–2025.

Our Secretary General, Matej Marušić, presented the DANUBEPARKS Network and ongoing efforts in restoration and citizen engagement carried out through the Horizon Europe DANUBE4all and LIFE WILDisland projects. Afterwards, Anita Cheneshkova, Coordinator of the Danube WILDisland Ramsar Regional Initiative, introduced this new Danube-wide Ramsar cooperation framework.

The meeting concluded with an inspiring field trip to the Rudava River, where participants explored examples of small-scale yet highly effective nature restoration measures.

It was a pleasure to reconnect with many familiar faces – all united by the shared mission of protecting and restoring our precious river landscapes!
