A Chance for the Blue Danube: Art competition

Awareness-raising for nature protection is an important goal of DANUBEPARKS, especially when it comes to young people.

Therefore, we organize together a video and poster competition for young people, to make them aware of the ecological importance of the Danube River. By using an artistic and creative approach, working on this topic can also be exciting for young people not interested yet in environmental protection.

The Danube-Delta Biosphere Reserve Authority has organized this competition „A Chance for the Blue Danube“ since 10 years already on a national level. Now, with the cooperation of Danube Protected Areas within DANUBEPARKS, the competition and exhibition will be moved onto an international level. The different views onto the same river shall open horizons for participants and for the public of all countries. The exhibition, comprising the best artworks, will move upstream between June and October 2010 from Romania to Slovakia, and be shown in four Danube riparian countries, in at least five exhibition centres.

We are looking forward to receiving videos and posters from your school and your pupils, and hope for also including them into the exhibition! From these outstanding artworks, visitors will vote for the final winners during the first month!
