Celebrating 50 years of the Djerdap National Park

On June 18, representatives of DANUBEPARKS and Kopački rit Nature Park participated in the celebration of 50 years of the Djerdap National Park!

During the event, our traveling exhibition "Welcome to the Empire of the Endangered Water Dragons" was presented in National Park's Visitor Center in Donji Milanovac to introduce participants to the charismatic and endangered "Danube Dragon" - Danube crested Newt (Triturus dobrogicus) and other amphibian species.

This exhibition is traveling along the Danube River in the framework of the DANUBE4all project, presenting the Danube Crested Newt as a flagship species for habitat restoration and ecological connectivity. The photomonography "In the Kingdom of Lynx Rista" by Predrag and Ognjen Kostin and Rastko Radović was also promoted at the ceremony.

Đerdap is the largest national park in the Republic of Serbia, and is characterized by a beautiful landscape and a diversity of flora and fauna.

We congratulate this big anniversary of Djerdap National Park, and we look forward to the continuation of our successful long-term cooperation.
