The online workshop presenting the Field protocol for eDNA sampling of Danube Crested Newt was held on December 11th 2024 within DANUBEdragonCONSERVATION project. DANUBEdragonCONSERVATION project is focused on the Danube-wide conservation of the Great Crested Newt (Triturus dobrogicus), known as the "Danube Dragon".
The workshop was presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Alma Mikuška from the Department of Biology in Osijek. Prof. Mikuška begin the workshop by presenting the Field protocol for eDNA sampling and proceed by demonstrated the use of sampling kits.
The project activities now continue with the analysis of eDNA samples from all involved DANUBEPARKS members. First results of eDNA analysis are expected by the end of 2025.
