In autumn 2011, as the last of three international conferences, the Donau-Auen National Park organized the Tourism Conference in collaboration with the Danube Tourist Commission, where the Protected Areas and representatives of the tourism industry came together.
The location of the wien-lobAU National Park House gave a chance to discover one of the touristic products while participating at the event.
During the morning session, the diversity of touristic offers in Protected Areas was presented and a general overview to tourism development along the Danube River given. In the afternoon, the cultural aspects of Danube tourism had their time and space.
After the conference, an exemplary excursion to the Danube Floodplains was organized.
